Do it Afraid: Embracing Courage in the Face of Fear is a motivational and inspirational boo\k by the televangelist and motivational speaker Joyce Meyer. In the book, Meyer teaches how to recognize, confront, and conquer the fears holding us back from living boldly and freely.
One of the biblical passages Joyce Meyer quoted in the back is “And call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me. Psalm 50:15”. Here, Joyce Meyer teaches us what to do as children of God when fear creeps into our lives. If you have read the the book of first Samuel in the bible, you will attest that King David passed through a lot of hardship before he became king. But what makes him stand out as a role model is his approach towards trails and tribulations. The book of psalm is replete with King David’s fervent prayers and supplications to God. We are conversant with the popular psalm 23- The Lord is my shepherd. It was one of king David’s prayers to God when King Saul sort to destroy him. In Joyce Meyer’s Do it Afraid pdf Book, she quoted one of king David’s psalm on facing fear “ And call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you” Psalm 50:15.
As a child of God, whenever fear creeps into your life, no matter the causality, do your best to submit the matter to God. God has a way of lessening a seemingly fearful and terrifying situation, take this as today’s bible nugget and give your life a facelift.
Fear is the devil’s favorite tool in the toolbox of schemes he uses to destroy God’s good plan for you. He uses it to hold you back and prevent progress in your relationships, career, and more.
In Do It Afraid, Joyce Meyer explains that fear is everywhere and affects everyone. It rules many people, but it doesn’t have to rule you any longer. She will teach you how to:
Remember, courage isn’t the absence of fear; it is learning how to move forward in the presence of fear. Courageous people do what they believe in their hearts they should do, no matter how they feel or what doubts fill their minds. When you take ownership of your problems and open your heart to God, He will help bring light into darkness so that you can be free.

5.0 out of 5 stars A lot of solid advice for dealing with fear from a Christian perspective
Reviewed in the United States on September 1, 2020
In this day and age, fear seems to run rampant. People are afraid of the virus in the pandemic, worried about their finances, and struggling to get along with people on opposite political party lines. In Joyce Meyer’s new book, Do It Afraid, she shares how faith in God can help readers deal with many of their fears.
At the start of the book, Meyer reminds readers that fear has been around a very long time and it affects everyone. However, she urges readers not to let fear “push them around.” Instead she starts out the book in the first section by helping readers understand fear. She then goes on to help them confront fear and to have the courage they need to do that. The third part of the book offers advice on the mindsets to have to walk in freedom from fear.
Like all of Joyce Meyer’s books, Do It Afraid is clear and easy to understand and relate to. She writes in such a way so the reader is reminded of the Scriptures that relate to each topic while including stories from her own life that relate well. Meyer doesn’t hold back she just shares from her heart matter-of-factly. I like that she is easy to relate to and understand. One other feature of this book is that she also shares stories at the end of each chapter from other real life people. This helps the reader feel like they are not alone in their struggles. Do It Afraid would be a good addition to any home library. I have to add that this book has one of the most gorgeous covers that I have seen on a Meyer book. Under the vellum dust jacket is a gorgeous lion picture.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions within this review are my own. #sponsoredbyfaithwords

this is an excellent book for anyone going through something scary. Who isn’t in 2020, right? I have already read 4 chapters and it has helped me tremendously with reciting scriptures to help me even when I am scared to ask Jesus to hold my hand and walk through the scary things with me. I am going through breast cancer pretty much alone except for Jesus and a few Christian friends but He is faithful to be there through thick and thin and this book proves it. Best book you ever wrote. As a matter of fact, I am trying to save quickly enough money to send one to my family and friends for their Christmas gifts this year!! God Bless you Joyce!!

Meyer shares deeply and frankly of the effects of horrific mental and sexual abuse by her parents. She explains how she recovered by discovering her self worth in the tenets of her faith and her determination to overcome sexism that threatened to derail her from becoming a preacher, author, and (let’s face it) outstanding stand-up comic and entertainer. Even if you do not agree with her theology, you have to admire someone who refused to be destroyed by the abuse she suffered, and now uses the empire she has created to relieve the suffering of women and girls domestically and around the world. She is a true inspiration to anyone who has experienced parental abuse and struggles to move beyond it.

I believe God sent this book to me to prepare me for a speaking assignment, to speak before the whole church. I was to replace one of my mentors .In my mind these were big shoes to fill. The book came at a perfect time . God reminded me of All He had taught me and that He was preparing me for that time. The book also pointed out times I missed opportunities because of fear. At 66 I thought my time of ministry was winding down, but it’s not over until God says it’s over.
Many many thanks to you and God for this book. It will help me to “Press to the mark……”

I absolutely LOVED this book! Within the first couple of chapters I could feel the chains breaking. I love how scriptures are used to show us what God has to say about fear. Joyce Meyer did such an amazing job of teaching what fear is, where it comes from and how we can overcome it. The workbook is absolutely essential as well. It definitely helped when I read the chapter then answer the questions as it applied to me. I recommend this book and workbook to anyone who is struggling in this area.
