At Cal-Solar, we're not just installing solar — we're building long-term energy confidence for the communities we serve.Job DutiesInstall residential and/or commercial solar PV systems according to design plans and local codesMount racking systems on rooftops or ground-mounted structuresSecure and install solar panels, inverters, and related hardwarePerform basic electrical wiring, conduit bending, and connections (DC/AC)Assist with system testing, commissioning, and troubleshootingRead and interpret blueprints, schematics, and layout plansEnsure installations meet safety, quality, and performance standardsFollow OSHA and company safety protocols, including fall protectionUse hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment safely and effectivelyCommunicate with crew leads, electricians, and project managersMaintain a clean and organized job siteLoad, transport, and handle materials and equipmentIdentify and report installation issues or site concernsParticipate in ongoing training and certification as requiredPosition RequirementsComfortably able to lift 75 lbs, climb ladders, and work on rooftops in varying temperaturesStrong work ethic, a passion for the environment, and a desire to learn the electrical tradeExcellent teamwork skillsDemonstrated commitment to high professional and ethical standards, and to a diverse workplaceClean driving record, with transportation (public or private) to and from job sitesMay require travelFull-time position, based in Grass Valley, CABenefitsVacation / sick payHealth benefits, including options for health insurance and vision, plus free dental insurance and free chiropractic careRetirement planWorker-owner co-ownership: dividends and the ability to apply for Cooperative membership after 6 months of employment (membership is highly encouraged, but not mandatory for all employees)$500/year education reimbursementOther perks such as tickets to film festivals, community volunteer opportunities, events, industry conferences, and company retreatsMeaningful work that makes a difference in the community and the world, in a vital and growing industryPay TransparencyIn compliance with SB 1162, Cal-Solar (with 15 or more employees) includes a pay scale in all job postings.
