Accountable for initiating, leading, and management of all aspects of the development, operation, and implementation of historic preservation related programs. Coordinates resources through partnerships; leverages private, state, and federal funding; and provides technical assistance to historic preservation programs and projects, heritage tourism projects, and HUD projects requiring Section 106 review. Provides expert professional assistance to County departments, regional agencies, education institutions and local units of government in areas of responsibility; performs related work as assigned.

Possession of a valid driver's license.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Duties require sufficient mobility to work in a normal office setting and conduct basic outdoor survey in urban and rural environments; and use standard office equipment, including a computer, camera, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, hearing and speech sufficient to communicate in person or over the telephone.

EDUCATION:
Possession of a master's degree in historic preservation, history, archaeology, anthropology, or closely related field of study. Candidate may qualify with a possession of a bachelor's degree in architectural history, art history, historic preservation, or closely related field AND host substantial contribution through research and publication to the body of scholarly knowledge in the field of American architectural history.
EXPERIENCE:
At minimum two (2) years of full-time experience in research, writing, or teaching in American architectural history or restoration architecture with an academic institution, historical organization or agency, museum, or other professional institution.
