It is a good way to loosen up the muscles of the hip flexor (the muscles that run along the front of your hip). Move slowly and smoothly between these two positions, breathing deeply throughout the stretch. Repeat 10-15 times. This stretch is great for loosening up the spine and improving flexibility and mobility in the upper back and shoulders.
